Metropolis is an Emery Nicoletti flagship professional hair color salon. We're able to demystify the procedure and fully involve you in your color selection and allow you to get up close and personal with your color options for a fearless and fun hair color experience. Every Metropolis Salon stylist has to meet a strict Metropolis educational curriculum of classes. Believe it or not, our staff must study and pass exams not only in haircutting, coloring, permanent waving, and the most standard beauty classes, but most people would be surprised to learn that chemistry, biology, anatomy, geometry, bacteriology and sanitation, marketing, and public speaking are also on the Metropolis curriculum.

In addition to our numerous hair techniques, we also take a serious approach to skin care. We use the Italian line Dermactive, which offers advanced solutions for every skin type and need. Their products contain super anti-aging, anti-oxidant ingredients and beneficial botanicals. Clients also rave about our customized waxing and sixty minute massage.

TRAINING PROGRAM AT METROPOLIS
Why are our stylists and colorists simply the best? It starts with our Metropolis in-house training program. We spend between one and two years educating our assistants. The training program is based on a solid foundation of Emery Nicoletti's fail-safe cutting and coloring principles honed over many years of experience. It's no secret that the training program at Metropolis is a stringent, almost militant curriculum with little room for the undisciplined. In fact, well over half of those who enter our training program do not last the entire run. Every Metropolis Salon stylist has to meet and graduate through a strict Metropolis educational curriculum of classes. Our educational standards are to insure that our staff continually offers the latest techniques whether new or reinvented.

At Metropolis, we believe it's important to focus on back to basics customer service and attention to detail. Trends are taught as applications to a secure creative foundation. This insures a great look that is current, creative and most importantly functional. Our creative directors and select colorists are continuously sent around the globe to keep them fresh and add international exposure to their teaching abilities. They keep the rest of the staff up-to-date with current fashion trends on a regular basis.

Additionally, because of the terrible drug abuse that plagues the beauty and fashion industry, every one of our employees are tested to be drug-free. THE METROPOLIS TREATMENT
Metropolis Salon is an Emery Nicoletti Flagship Salon. Our Emery Nicoletti Hair Care Systems reconstructive treatment has been designed to pamper and envelop you in the total Metropolis experience. After a comprehensive hair and scalp evaluation by one of our professionals, a personalized in-salon reconstructive ritual is prescribed. The ritual focuses on advanced technology with the highest level of personalized care. It includes a custom prescribed treatment and a rejuvenating scalp, neck and shoulder massage that restores balance to your hair and personal well-being. In addition, to examining the condition of your hair, your Metropolis Stylist may suggest an occasional deep conditioning treatment. While we can sell you a reconstructor that we recommend you apply once per week, we highly recommend that you have a professional, in-salon reconstructor applied at least once every three months or in between all chemical services if your hair is touching your shoulders or longer. If you keep it shorter, you probably need a treatment only twice per year. The benefits of a professionally applied reconstructor is to deposit much needed protein into the porous areas of your hair. This helps to equalize your hair's porosity to insure that your hair will remain structurally stronger while helping to improve the elasticity that your hair loses over time and the exposure to many elements. An acidic final rinse will help close the cuticle layer thus entrapping all the protein deposited to the cortex (the secondary layer) thus building your hair back to it's ideal condition and pH acid mantle. The results are shinier, healthier, stronger, and happier hair!

GIVING BACK TO YOU!
Metropolis Salon prides itself on our commitment to giving back as much as possible to Southern Arizona as well as our planet. Metropolis is asked almost on a daily basis for donations for various Tucson non-profit fundraisers. Unlike other Tucson salons, we do not have a strict procedure for obtaining a Metropolis donation. You do not have to call "this person," or "that person," or leave a message, or send a fax or an email, or get stuck in voice mail Hell. All you have to do is ask. It's super simple. As long is it's not for some Jon Benet Ramsey type of child pageant, or the Hillsboro Baptist Church, you'll most likely get approved.
